Savings Optimization

Are your savings accounts actually working for you?

We review every registered and non-registered account you hold and build a contribution plan that closes gaps before retirement arrives.

What savings optimization covers

Many Canadians reach 55 with accounts spread across multiple institutions, unused TFSA room, and RRSP contribution limits they've never fully modelled. Terravnova's savings review brings everything into one clear picture. Your advisor compiles your current balances, employer pension entitlements, and projected CPP benefit, then runs multi-decade compound scenarios to show where your capital ends up under different contribution and investment-mix strategies. The session produces a written action plan — which accounts to prioritize, by how much, and in what order — delivered within five business days of your first meeting.

What you get from a Terravnova savings review

Concrete outputs, not vague advice.

Written account audit

A line-by-line summary of your RRSP, TFSA, LIRA, and non-registered holdings, including unused contribution room and any over-contribution flags.

Multi-scenario modelling

Three to five projections showing your retirement capital at age 65, 70, and 75 under different contribution rates, asset mixes, and inflation assumptions.

Prioritized action steps

A numbered list of which accounts to fund first, how to restructure existing holdings, and what to do before next year's RRSP deadline.

Annual rebalancing check

Every February, your advisor reviews the plan against actual contributions, market movement, and any new legislation that affects your registered accounts.

Who this service is — and isn't — for

Terravnova's savings optimization works best for Canadians aged 45–65 who have accumulated capital across multiple accounts and want a structured plan for the ten to twenty years before they stop working. It is not a product-sales meeting; we do not earn commissions on the investment vehicles you hold. If you need ongoing portfolio management or day-trading execution services, we will refer you to a licensed portfolio manager — that falls outside what we do. Our role is planning and coordination, not discretionary asset management.

I had no idea I had $41,000 in unused TFSA room sitting idle. My Terravnova advisor found it in our first session and we had a rebalancing plan in place within a week. That single conversation changed my retirement date by two years.
